something different

Finished some invitations for grooms Elliot & Zachary— these guys had a completely different take on wedding style. First of all, their colors are red, purple, and gold; their pinterest boards included strong block letters alongside whimsical cursive and paper crane textures alongside stark vector graphics. It was an interesting line to balance but I think we nailed it.

I’m so glad they trusted me to design this for them; the majority of my wedding stationery work deals heavily with the typical wedding aesthetic: florals, watercolors, pale blues, greens, pinks, etc. But this was completely different, and a really fun design problem to solve.

cheers to these two!!

Chalkboard lettering

Did my first chalkboard this weekend at a wedding! I initially designed it in Procreate and a grid, then copied it right onto the chalkboard.

whew! Stressful (it was a very last minute addition to the work I supplied for the event) but so fun. I need to practice this and do more. Seriously respect Lauren Hom and her chalkboard menu hustle…
